What does Life Insurance cover me for?

Life Insurance pays out on the death of the people insured, or earlier if there’s a diagnosis of terminal illness. The terminal illness must meet our policy definition and you can’t claim within the last 12 months of the plan. Depending on how the policy is set up, it could cover a single person or joint.​

Am I eligible for Life Insurance?

If you’re over 18 years of age and living in the UK and have spent at least 183 days in the UK in the last tax year, you’re eligible for a policy. Please note that upper age limits will apply.

How can I cancel my life insurance policy?

Should you want to cancel any policies written by Your Protection People Ltd, you will need to speak directly with the policy provider. Your Protection People can only cancel policies if it has not started, or an imminent start date provided.

How does critical illness differ from income protection?

The main difference center’s around what they cover and how they pay out. Critical Illness covers more serious conditions and pays out in one tax-free lump sum in the instance of injury or illness. Income Protection covers a different array of illnesses including some not covered by critical illness such as a bad back or depression.  This type of cover pays you a percentage of your monthly salary as a regular payment while you are injured or unwell to help bridge the gap until you are able to return to work.
